The opportunity
Leave work you’re proud to walk past.
We’re looking for finishers who can read the concrete, work with the crew and protect the quality of a pour from placement through curing. Method’s work includes structural slabs, flatwork, curbs, sidewalks and architectural concrete; tell us where your experience is strongest.
What you’ll do
- Review the pour plan, required finish and grades with the foreman; help check that the work area is ready.
- Strike off, float, edge, joint, broom or trowel concrete as the scope requires, using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Adjust the work sequence to concrete set, weather and site conditions; raise problems early rather than working defects into the surface.
- Maintain specified slopes, transitions and surface quality, and coordinate joints with the project requirements.
- Apply specified curing and protection, look after tools and leave completed work ready for the next trade.
What you bring
- Hands-on concrete finishing experience and an understanding of timing, surface preparation and curing.
- Ability to follow grade and finish requirements and use the tools needed for your assigned work safely.
- Reliable attendance, teamwork during pours and pride in consistent workmanship.
A plus, not a requirement
- Experience with power trowels, larger slab placements, curb and gutter, or architectural and exposed finishes.
On the jobsite
These are active outdoor jobsites in the Phoenix area, with heat, sun, noise, dust and moving equipment. Work involves standing, bending, kneeling, uneven ground and handling tools or materials as the task requires. Follow site safety and heat precautions, use required protective equipment and ask for assistance when needed. Start times follow the pour schedule; early starts and occasional overtime or weekends may be needed.
The essential duties can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
