The opportunity

Build the number behind the pour.

This is a full-time, in-office role in Phoenix. You’ll estimate structural and site concrete for commercial, multifamily and other construction projects, from individual scopes to complete concrete packages. We’re looking for someone who can see beyond a takeoff: understand how the work gets built, identify what is missing and explain the assumptions behind the number.

What you’ll do

  • Review drawings, specifications, addenda and site information; define the concrete scope and flag gaps or conflicting requirements before the bid.
  • Prepare detailed takeoffs for foundations, slabs-on-grade, elevated slabs, walls, reinforcing, formwork, flatwork and site concrete, including accessories and vapor barriers.
  • Build estimates for labor, materials, equipment, pumping and subcontracted work using realistic quantities, production rates and site logistics.
  • Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor proposals, checking coverage, exclusions, lead times and pricing assumptions.
  • Work with project managers, superintendents and field leadership to review sequencing, crew needs, access and constructability.
  • Prepare clear proposals, alternates, inclusions and exclusions; track revisions and meet bid deadlines.
  • Participate in bid reviews and project handoffs so the delivery team understands the estimate, commitments and risks.
  • Maintain pricing and production history, compare estimates with field results and help improve the next bid.

What you bring

  • Ability to produce detailed concrete quantity takeoffs and cost estimates, with a clear understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of concrete construction, forming, reinforcing, placement, finishing and field productivity.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel and estimating software; organized records and dependable version control.
  • Sound judgment with numbers, scope and risk, and the ability to explain an estimate to field teams and company leadership.
  • Ability to manage several bids, communicate early when information is missing and work full time from our Phoenix office.

A plus, not a requirement

  • Experience as a concrete estimator, field engineer or in a related commercial or structural concrete role.
  • Experience with both structural and site concrete packages.
  • A degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
